Our latest Mod of the Month views her work as a way to better the world, by creating healthier online communities and protecting vulnerable members of that community from bad actors. This defender of all things virtual is Kelly G., a ModSquad veteran and two-time Mod of the Month honoree!

The first thing you might hear about Kelly, when asking her fellow Mods, is that she is a HUGE Post Malone fan (along with Gunship and Pink Floyd). The second? Her card collection, which includes everything from baseball cards, Pokemon cards. Her favorite? The Post Malone fan card, of course.

Kelly lives with her partner and her partner’s son. He is one of her biggest heroes. “He is autistic, but that hasn’t stopped him from living and loving life. I’ve learned a lot about life from him. How differences can bring us together and shouldn’t define us.” 

In fact, it’s this exact thought that defines Kelly. Her life motto, aptly taken from the song When You Grow Up, Your Heart Dies, by Gunship, is “Expect nothing, appreciate everything.” She goes on to say “I just want people to love each other. That’s why I love my job. It’s my way of making the world a better place.” 

Kelly first joined ModSquad back in 2014, and has gained a reputation for her dedication, integrity and excellence to the job, and of course the communities that she moderates. In fact, Kelly goes as far to say “If you have a job, take it seriously. Give it the best of your ability. If you don’t have integrity with what you’re doing, then what are you doing?” 

And it’s this work ethic that has earned Kelly her second Mod of the Month recognition. 

“Kelly has always gone above and beyond for our project, even helping our client to develop a brand new moderation strategy several years into our relationship with them. She is the master of “yes and”, a key figure in our brainstorming sessions, and just a joy to work with.
